A Howard County resident for more than 35 years, Steve is a graduate of River Hill High School, where he played four years of varsity lacrosse and served as a senior-year midfield captain in 2001. He began playing lacrosse in middle school through the local boys’ summer league at Cedar Lane Park, bringing a lifelong connection to the Howard County lacrosse community and his love of the game.

A multi-sport athlete, Steve began coaching as a teaching player with the University of Maryland Rugby Football Club, where he helped more than fifty recruits learn the game and develop foundational skills. Since his playing days, he has continued to contribute to coaching a variety of youth sports teams around Howard County for his own children.

Steve has formerly served in local leadership roles as a board member of the University of Maryland Alumni Board for Howard County and as trustee for his church. He and his wife, Liz, live in Clarksville with their four lovely children. Outside of lacrosse, Steve is a partner in the Washington, DC office of Barnes & Thornburg LLP, where his practice focuses on intellectual property law and product development.

I'm Jenny, proud HOCO lacrosse mom and longtime fan since my son Noah joined the team three years ago as an attack player. I’ve loved every minute of watching him and his teammates grow, compete, and have fun over the years.

This will be my 2nd year since I stepped into the role of Team Mom and Social Media Mom, and it’s been such a rewarding experience. I’ve especially enjoyed capturing and sharing the team’s special moments whether it’s game days, practices, camps, or just the boys goofing off and building their bond.

I’m really excited for this upcoming season as our team continues to build on a strong foundation and grow together both on and off the field.

When I’m not on the HOCO sidelines, you’ll usually find me cheering on my daughter Rylee who plays attack for M&D 32 Black, or supporting my son Kai, who traded in his lacrosse stick for Warhawks wrestling lol!

Even though I didn’t grow up playing lacrosse myself, it’s become such a big part of my life. My husband Aaron played Division I in College, so while he’s out there coaching and training our kids, he’s also attempting to teach me along the way 😊.

Chris is a passionate and experienced multi-sport coach who is committed to developing young athletes both on and off the field. A 2000 graduate of South Carroll High School, Chris was a varsity athlete in football, wrestling, and lacrosse before continuing his athletic career at McDaniel College (formerly Western Maryland College), where he competed in both football and lacrosse. From 2000–2004, he was a two-year starter on defense while also contributing at long-stick midfield and as a faceoff specialist.

Chris brings a competitive mindset, strong leadership, and a deep understanding of the game to every practice and competition. His coaching philosophy centers on developing fundamentally sound, high-IQ players who compete with confidence, toughness, and discipline. He believes that long-term player development is built through consistent effort, accountability, and creating an environment where athletes are challenged, supported, and encouraged to grow.

As a father of three and a longtime youth coach, Chris believes success is measured by the growth, confidence, and values each player develops throughout the season. He is committed to building a competitive, team-first culture where athletes are challenged to give their best, support one another, and embrace accountability. While pursuing championship-level performance, Chris emphasizes sportsmanship, resilience, and a genuine love for the game, helping every player develop the skills and mindset needed to succeed both on and off the field.

Chris's goal is to prepare players not only for success with the HOCO 2033 program, but also to develop the habits, confidence, and leadership skills that will serve them throughout their athletic careers and beyond.

Charles was born and raised in the Dayton area of Howard County. He started playing lacrosse in Elementary school with the Cobra Lacrosse program. He went on to play football and lacrosse at Glenelg then River Hill High School where he graduated from in ‘99. He started three years on varsity lacrosse and was Captain his Junior and Senior year. Coach Whitaker has coached 2 years with HC Rec lacrosse and 4 years with the HOCO Boys Club 2028 team. The coach led the HOCO 2028 team to championship wins in the GHCLC in 2021, 2022, and 2023 as well as a MYLA club championship win in 2023. He currently holds a Silver Level Coaching Certificate with USA Lacrosse. Coach Whitaker currently resides on a farm in Clarksville, Maryland, with his wife, Jaclyn, his son, Chase, and his daughter, Emma. Chase and Emma both currently attend Good Counsel. When he is not at Lacrosse he can usually be found at Emma’s equestrian events.

In high school, Coach Tommy played lacrosse at Mt Hebron High School.  Afterwards he was a member of the UMBC Men’s lacrosse team from 2000 - 2004.  His wife, Becca Tittsworth, also lettered in lacrosse at Mt Hebron and played D1 lacrosse at Vanderbilt University.  Following college, Tommy coached 17 varsity seasons at Mt Hebron High School with coach Mike McCarthy and his brother coach Mike Tittsworth.  Coach Tommy has many years of coaching experience including lacrosse, football, track, and wrestling.  He has a philosophy of coaching his players to strive to be the best they can be to better the team and to never settle for less than their best.  He is looking forward to coaching with both Tyler Powell and Tyler Jepson as well as having the opportunity to bring the joy of lacrosse to his players.

Tyler is from Seattle Washington where he started playing lacrosse in 3rd grade. He grew up playing for Tahoma High School and Seattle Starz. He went on to play goalie at Mount St. Mary’s university and has been coaching since. Tyler is currently the head coach at Gettysburg Area High School and is based out of the Frederick MD area.

Jack Simon played five years of Division I lacrosse at High Point University as a long stick midfielder after developing in New York, a premier lacrosse hotbed. His coaching approach is built around long-term player development, high lacrosse IQ, and habits that translate to success at the high school and collegiate levels. With a background in health sciences, Jack emphasizes athletic development and accountability. His goal is to provide athletes with the skills, confidence, and mindset required for the next level - on and off the field. Outside of lacrosse, Jack is an all world ironman endurance athlete and lifelong student of performance, bringing discipline, consistency, and genuine care for his players’ growth on and off the field.

Hi! I'm Laura and I've been a HoCo Lacrosse fan since my son, Reed, joined the 2031 team in 2022. I've loved getting to watch him and the team play over the last four years. This past year I took on the role of social media mom and have enjoyed highlighting the team's special moments. When I'm not cheering on Reed in lacrosse, I work as a reading specialist at an elementary school in Montgomery County. I also have a 10 year old daughter who loves soccer and dance, so my husband, Jeff, and I are always on the move! Let's go HoCo!

I'm Meghan, and my son, Deg, has been a lacrosse goalie for four years. I absolutely love watching him play (even if he gives me the occasional scare when he leaves the crease!). I am so excited to watch this team develop and grow over the coming year. Go HoCo!

Amadou Tall enters his second year as Head coach for HOCO boys LAX.

Coach Amadou has previously coached True at the True DC club team where he has had success in winning tournaments such as “Turning point” and developing his players making sure they are ready to take the next leap into high school lacrosse.

Coach Amadou started his lacrosse career at Springbrook high school where he was a multisport athlete, being captain of his lacrosse team while making the all-star game his senior year. He graduated and went on to play D1 lacrosse at Hampton university for 3 years. Coach Amadou Graduated in 2020 with a bachelor's degree in Kinesiology. Coach had/has a very aggressive playstyle as a close defender and believes in “make something happen don't sit back and let it happen” and echoes that philosophy in his team in all aspects of his lacrosse teams.

Coach Amadou also currently coaches at Our Lady Good counsel high school. He is a JV defensive coach and a varsity assistant. The JV boasted an impressive 11-2 record in 2025 and went undefeated in conference play and vs the IAC. This year in 2026 the JV kept it up and went 12-2 while remaining undefeated in the WCAC conference. The Defense was hyper aggressive looking for opportunities at every corner to take away the ball.

Coach Amadou will hold his players accountable and strive to make them the best versions of themselves on and off the field while developing into fine lacrosse players and men. Coach Amadou believes in practice being the hardest and funniest part of the season and welcomes the competition that young men so often seek.

Nick brings a lifelong passion for lacrosse and a deep connection to Howard County's lacrosse community. A native of the area, Nick grew up playing the game locally and went on to play goalie at Mount St. Joseph High School. He began his coaching career in 2007, working with youth players and developing a reputation for teaching fundamentals and inspiring confidence in young athletes.

As a coach with HOCO Lacrosse, Nick led his boys’ team to an undefeated regular season in 2024. In addition to coaching the boys, he also serves as a goalie coach for the HOCO 2034 girls program, helping athletes sharpen their skills and improve their performance in the crease.

Nick lives in Sykesville, Maryland with his wife Melissa and their three children. His commitment to sport and to the development of young athletes makes him a valued member of the HOCO coaching staff.

Adam grew up in Anne Arundel county where he played lacrosse at Arundel High School for four years and was a member of the 1995 state championship team. He went on to play for the University of Maryland College Park's Club Lacrosse team, helping lead the squad to multiple Final Four appearances in the NCLL, including an undefeated national championship season in 1998. Adam continues to play as an LSM on mens league teams, including Glyndon/SRLC in the Maryland Men’s Masters League and Blarney in the MDLL Masters Division.

Adam has been involved with HCLax for several years, coaching both of his sons over several elementary and middle school seasons. He is excited to help shape and develop the 2028 team.
